“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you
use it will be measured back to you.”

— Luke 6:38

Planned Giving Program

St Paul says, ‘Ultimately we have received everything from God’. (1 Cor 4:7).  If it is the generosity of God and others that I am what I am today, it is our moral responsibility to be generous as God and others were generous to us.   Jesus challenges us by his teachings, ‘Give and it will be given to you’, to share many treasures that God himself has blessed us with in our lives.  For many of us we are rich in treasure but poor in time.  We encourage you to think how your generosity each week helps in shaping the way our Parish functions.

An envelope Planned Giving Program exists within the Parish which assists in financial planning within the Parish.  Many parishioners now take the advantage of giving to the Parish by Direct Debit from their banks.  Parish Finance Council encourages our parishioners this mode of giving compared to the envelop system for various reasons including efficiency and regularity.  If you are interested to participate in the Planned Giving Program or to establish a Direct Debit contribution to our Parish, please contact Mrs. Kerstin Knott, Parish Secretary at the Parish Office.

1st COLLECTION for the Support of

  • The Parish Priest

  • The Archbishop & Priests retired, sick and in country parishes who are in country parishes.

2nd COLLECTION for the Support of

  • Parish Administration

  • Pastoral Care, Sacraments and Religious Education for Children and Adult Education.

  • R&M of other buildings: Parish Hall and other associated buildings

Planned Giving contributes to the running costs of our Parish such as maintaining and repairing our buildings, Parish grounds and to provide other professional Parish services.  Planned Giving allows our Parish to, each year, carry out many of the costs mentioned above.

2 Corinthians 9:7 says, ‘Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’  However, the reality is planned giving over the years has decreased in our parish.  We parishioners of OLA are the stewards of this parish and it our responsibility to make sure of the spiritual, pastoral and physical wellbeing of each and everyone in this parish and its assets.

If you are interested in sharing in Planned Giving or contributing in some way to our Parish projects please contact the Parish Office on 3359 0239.

The first and second collections are now banked into one account; and then apportionments of expenses are made in accordance with the Archdiocesan assessments and levies.

In order to assist our parishioners in supporting our parish community financially, we have adopted other alternative electronic methods of giving in our parish.  Direct Debit, Credit Card, Direct Deposits, Pay Wave Machine and Parish App are the other methods.

If you like to support the parish using Direct Debit or Credit Card please contact Kerstin Knott, the Parish Secretary, to assist you.

You may also find Parish Bank Account details provided in our Newsletter to use the provision of Direct Deposit.

Pay Wave Machine is located at the entrance of both churches where you may use your credit/debit cards to make your contribution.  Since the amount is fixed on these machines, you have to wave your cards more than once if you want to donate a higher amount.

Parish App will be another useful electronic Parish Support System which could be used according to your convenience and the amount you wish.  This app is ideal for those of our parishioners who are unable to attend our parish community Mass over the weekends either regularly or occasionally. The app provides an alternative to the Pay Wave Machine installed at the entrance of the church. This will help you to avoid waiting in front of the machine to complete processing time between transactions. This app opens the possibility for a regular giving as part of your belongingness and commitment to your own parish community, even if you attend church at a different location on a weekend because of your scheduled program.

A profile will need to be created the first time you log in, then it is very easy to make a single donation or to create recurring gifts. Please see the links below to the slide shows of the Parish Giving App User Guides.
