Bookings for Masses – See Below
Welcome to the website of Our Lady of the Angels’ Parish, Chermside. Our Parish was formed on 2 August, 2013 amalgamating the parishes of St Paschal Baylon, Wavell Heights and St Gerard Majella, Chermside West.
St Paschal’s developed in the 1930’s and it grew to a thriving community with a dynamic parish primary school, Our Lady of the Angels.
With the growth in the Western part of the parish, the West Chermside community was split off into a new parish, St Gerard’s, in the early 1970’s.
Over time, the two parishes went their separate ways until Archbishop Bathersby asked me to administer both communities in 2010. We then worked towards merging to form our new parish, taking the name of the school and the suburban name of Chermside. I gratefully acknowledge here the generous service of Fr Gerard McMorrow in the amalgamation and formation of this Parish from 2002-2020 and we wish him all the best and God’s many blessings in his new ministry.
I hope you will enjoy looking around the website to see the range of ministries and activities under-taken in our Parish and links to our Our Lady of the Angels’ Parish School, Wavell Out of Hours Child Care and Majella Early Years Child Care.
I am immensely proud of the vitality of our communities and volunteers and assure you of a very warm welcome should you decide to celebrate with us at weekend Masses or participate in any of our other events.
